ADDIITONAL DETAILS AND ARTIST BIO
In addition to the art exhibition, Dorothy will share her insights by participating in the week-long women artists conference beginning on June 21st through June 27th in Ho Chi Minh City. City tours will be hosted by the Conservatory of Fine Arts and INWAC including visiting the Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts University, galleries, and the studios of Vietnamese women artists.
Dorothy will have the choice of attending one of three cultural enrichment experiences being offered: an International Sculpture Workshop/Symposium and visiting Con Dao Prison on Phu Quoc Island, discovering ancient Ba Chua Xu Temple or exploring the Mekong Delta. Whatever her choice, Dorothy is sure to bring back fresh inspiration for future art creations infused with a new perspective.
She and her artist husband Rod Steelman will spend one week in Cambodia, one in Laos and three weeks touring Vietnam. Riggs is hoping to share her experiences of Southeast Asia with the Central Coast community through travel photos, art journals and perhaps a poem or two upon her return.
