An investigative film is THE BIG FIX. Josh and Rebecca Tickell went down to Louisiana (after the BP oil spill) to find out the truth. When the media is no longer doing its job of reporting the truth, people need to take upon themselves to find the truth. After the film was screened at Cannes Festival, the audience erupted into a standing ovation for 10 minutes. And for some strange reason, the Academy has not even included this film to be voted on for any awards.
At Cannes Festival, a ten minute standing ovation erupted after the screening! Yet The Academy wont even submit it for any awards. Whats going on here? This is an incredible expose that uncovers the cover up that has been happening with our government and BP for decades.
LA Weekly says THE BIG FIX is “a mandatory-viewing critique of widespread government corruption.” Executive Producer Tim Robbins calls THE BIG FIX, “Dangerous.”
Follow two daring filmmakers, Josh and Rebecca Tickell, (FUEL, FREEDOM) as they go undercover to expose the secrets of the largest industry on earth – Big Oil. The Tickells set out to investigate the root causes of the 2010 BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico and in so doing, discover a vast network of corporate and government malfeasance.
The New Orleans Times Picayune says THE BIG FIX is “a full-on, no-holds-barred bit of investigative journalism.” Through “smart, covert reporting that shames our news media” (The Village Voice) THE BIG FIX reveals the hidden playbook of the biggest corporate bad boys. From fracking to the tar sands and the Keystone XL pipeline – to the companies ratcheting America’s gas prices through the roof – from politicians to corporate tycoons – nobody is safe from the Tickells unfaltering lens. The game is rigged, the system is broken and THE BIG FIX reveals exactly how we stop it – before it’s too late.
May 30th in SLO, Steynberg Gallery (1531 Monterey) 6:30 social time, 7pm film (and discussion afterwards).
